When we go back a little to the period in which we knew football, we find that Yemeni players played with our teams in the fifties. Football preceded other sports in our country, and the reason is due to the merchant ships that roamed the seas, and contributed to introducing the game here, in that time period. Through my review of some sources, I came up with a good result and information related to the game, specifically the foreign players who played with our teams in the late fifties, as they started with us from scratch. Thus, I will discuss a small part about the Yemeni player who played football, specifically in the first stage, After the game reached us in the late fifties of the last century, it witnessed strong teams competing in several challenging tournaments and witnessing heated matches, and many still remember these facts and events before their eyes, because, according to their stories to me, they were beautiful days and unforgettable memories. And when I focus on football in the past in our city, which was famous as a commercial center since ancient times throughout the region, in addition to the openness of this city to every visitor and resident, as is happening now, and we see it on the ground, Dubai Al Khair more than 50 years ago had the same qualities. And those arriving there continued to bring many experiences.
Among the experiences are football players who contributed greatly to spreading it and creating an atmosphere of challenge and competition, from players from Yemen who are remembered by our first generation, and who played with Al-Wahda and Al-Shabab teams in the Deira region, before they merged to become the current Al-Ahly and the former Al-Ahly in Bur Dubai, which It has now become Al-Nasr, Al-Nahda, Al-Sharq Al-Awsat and the Eleven Friends, which were our teams at that time, and they were playing with our teams more than 50 years ago. This stage was the beginning of the game’s launch, as there were no restrictions on registration, and the number was open for playing with small teams. , which played a major role after these teams merged with each other, turning the teams into clubs! So why do we write about Yemen, because it has a rich football history? Our generation today must learn about this history, before facing the next two teams… and God is behind the intention.
