It really knows its way, so you don’t have to worry about traffic accidents or traffic, the upcoming Volvo EX90 has combined cameras and radars together to understand your car’s surroundings and help keep you safe.
In a bold move by the company to develop its technologies to improve driving systems, to reach the level of self-driving in the future.
The new system, integrated with Google systems, is based on developing ways to learn about your environment in detail – whether directly in front of you or at longer distances, to avoid turns and obstacles. Incorporating high-resolution Google Maps tailored to automakers Volvo Cars and its strategic partner Polestar stand out for being the first automakers to incorporate Google HD Maps technology into their cars, starting with the recently revealed Volvo EX90 and Polestar 3.
This animation is intended to illustrate the company’s development efforts for Pilot Assist, its assistive driving feature, powered by a high-resolution Google Map, as well as input from the advanced external sensor suite of lidar, five radars, and eight cameras.
By integrating a high-resolution Google Map, we will be able to combine data from sensors in the Volvo EX90, with Google Precise Lane Level data and localization data to facilitate driving features such as lane change assistance and Volvo Cars Pilot activation, as well as future autonomous driving functions.
Self driving
This road information, along with data given by the Volvo EX90 and other sensors, will be processed by the vehicle’s primary computer system powered by NVIDIA DRIVE AI Platforms Xavier and Orin.
And by combining data from a high-resolution Google Map with information gathered from external sensors, including lidar, and software developed by security software company Zenseact, the company aims to create a safer, more comfortable, and more predictable drive.
In the future, the high-resolution Google Map will also support the introduction of the company’s self-driving technology, along with its proprietary sensor suite, consisting of ceiling-mounted lidar, radars, cameras and ultrasonic sensors, to further improve the vehicle’s understanding of its environment. The game is for self-driving access.High-resolution Google Map will be available in cars equipped with Pilot Assist. Volvo Cars’ Pilot Assist offer may vary by market, model year and vehicle.
