The Aramco Team Championship Series, presented by the Public Investment Fund, began today, Wednesday, in London, specifically at the Centurion Club, and its competitions will continue until the fifth of July, amid extensive competition from the best female players in the world.
The tournament will witness the participation of female golf champions and those ranked among the best in the world in the most powerful tournaments, including the Women’s European Tour.
Among the names participating in the field of the Aramco Team Championship Series presented by the Public Investment Fund are last year’s winning team captain, Georgia Hall, and record holder Allison Lee, as the toughest challenge awaits them over the next two days.
Alison Lee is looking forward to repeating her record for the fewest number of strikes again in the third event of the tournament in London. Despite the challenge of the British weather, she seeks to adapt to the course of events.
Regarding the competition, world champion Lee said: “I played the first nine holes when there wasn’t a lot of wind, but I’m sure it could get windy as the week goes on, so I feel like the game will be very different, once we start and maybe later.” Of the week, they say it might rain a bit and she added: “I will try my best to adapt to what the British golf weather brings.”
On the other hand, the number one ranked world champion, American golfer Nelly Korda, withdrew after she was exposed to a “dog bite” after the recent KPMG Women’s Championship, where she said: “I regret to announce my withdrawal, as I need to receive treatment and fully recover, so I apologize to the fans for my absence.”
Among the most prominent names participating is Grand Slam-winning star Hull, who led her team to victory by one stroke last year and returns to Centurion with a new ambition to achieve another victory on the European Tour.
Regarding her participation, she said: “I am ready to compete in the tournament, although I do not participate regularly in it, but I consider it a wonderful opportunity to meet many important names.”
The tournament represents an important stage for many names, especially those who will move on to participate in the Paris 2024 Summer Olympic Games, making it an important stage to provide high levels of classification and results.
The Aramco teams series presented by the Public Investment Fund will return to London, specifically the Centurion Club, from July 3-5.
