• The House of Football recently inaugurated the signing of an agreement to operate VAR technology in our stadiums, starting next season, with one of the major companies (HAWK-EYE) at a cost exceeding half a million dinars, and this is in addition to the expenses related to transportation and training. The announcement represented good news for the football street; But this was not without sarcastic criticism, for those who do not like worship or fasting in Rajab!
• The comments that followed the announcement of the signing angered the Secretary General of the Football House, Al-Siddiq Rashid Al-Zoubi, who stated that the Federation is not immune from criticism, even with their major projects. And because I am Abdullah, we say do not expect the projects to meet everyone’s satisfaction; There are a few whose habit is to present only negative visions, even if they were required to do so before. Because it always starts from a policy (otherwise known).
• But we say to the faithful brother that his union did not deal with the process of inaugurating the signature in the way it deserves, as it is a major project, and its cost is very high. At the very least, he deserved a media push, commensurate with the large amount of money allocated, and the popular demands that preceded him. It should not be passed on as normal news distributed by the Football House media; Because it lost his media momentum, which constitutes a strong positive shock.
• We were waiting for the announcement to come with a large level of official and media attendance. Through the presence of the president, his deputy, and other members of the Executive Committee, without diminishing the status of those who attended, or the media professionals in the various visible and print media outlets; Local or external, including the media (social media) and through a press conference that reflects the importance of this project!
• Of course, this agreement, which also includes training referees on its management, does not mean that it will solve all arbitration problems; But at least it will reduce it, because even those who preceded us in implementing it have considered it controversial. Even the English Premier League has not spared the technology from criticism and needs you to intervene with the responsible referees’ committee to announce the presence of errors related to the operator, who is human.
• So we are waiting for what this (VAR) can do
It reduces criticism of referees and referees, how the duration of matches will lengthen with each call from video referees to review a specific (game), and how the Competitions Committee will deal with the status of matches on the schedule per day. And whether matches will be held on different stadiums; All of which are supposed to be configured to use VAR.
