The legacy of the World Cup and the sustainability of success

Everything that was in the World Cup in Qatar was wonderful beyond imagination. No one expected that the Moroccan national team would be a champion who was not crowned with the World Cup.
Therefore, it is difficult for all of us to quickly get out of the clouds of astonishment and the veils of joy, to hastily turn the page of the Qatar World Cup, which was filled with scarves, necklaces and expressions of luxury. It is difficult for us to attribute the miraculous act to the past, even if it was close, because what happened in Qatar is a beautiful and wonderful tattoo that days cannot to remove it.
But it is life, whose train does not stop for long at a specific station, no matter how historical or even legendary that station is, for tomorrow is certainly another day..
And the Last Day will undoubtedly ask us what we will do with the legacy. It will ask us about what we are doing with our great project “sustaining success”, if we emerged victorious from a football jihad, how do we just start preparing for a football jihad greater than it, if we objectively attribute this impressive World Cup success to a work we have accomplished in depth With the implementation of professionalism in work, we had to invest in achievement and in the legacy for its sustainability. For my life, it is a great responsibility, even arduous and painstaking, because what is difficult in the lives of dreaming peoples is not reaching the summit, but staying as long as possible at this summit.
My observations and experience of national football over more than four decades tell me that our football history consisted of ruptures, not connections, revolutions that we announce after disappointments and calamities, not an investment in successes and achievements, so my great fear is that the historic achievement of our team will not be National, and it places our ball among the four best “footballs” in the world, a source of inspiration and a huge legacy that is being preserved, and even enriched by investing in it.
My fear is that our arrival to the quarter of the mighty in the World Cup, as the first Arab and African country to achieve this, will not be a strong motivator for the will of collective action. And the most thing that we must rise to in order to imitate the adults in the world, is our professional championship, which must be devoid of all sporting, behavioral, and even management impurities. Resistant against the raids of time, they are our players who saw in what the graduates of the championship accomplished with the national team in the World Cup, what makes them always and forever dream, what gives them confidence that by working alone they can, so there is no impossible that discourages.
History will not erase from its pages what our national team accomplished in the World Cup, nor will the collective memory erase from it the images of popular embrace, collective joy and national pride, but what history will remember most and present as a legacy to future generations is that Morocco made the World Cup Qatar 2022 a station that is constantly present in the collective memory. It inspires, encourages and pushes us to raise the ceiling of ambition high, so that we will always be a people of high determination, who will not be satisfied among nations without living in the peaks.
