The football sports relationship between the Emirates and Qatar has a historical eternity and has many beautiful memories that I do not have enough space to discuss. A number of the people of the country played in some of the first teams since the establishment of the Qatari clubs in the sixties, where they played in the teams of Al-Najah, Al-Tahrir and others, such as the late Al-Nasr player Ibrahim Jumaa, who The late Saad Mubarak was named after Brigadier Al-Nasr and the father of Emirati football stars Khamis and Bakhit. Masoud Obaid also played in Qatar and was an international player who participated in the national team and was a member of Al-Ahly Dubai. In the early seventies, the Al-Rayyan team, which was filled with Qatari football stars, visited us and played here against Al-Ahly in Dubai and Al-Khaleej in Sharjah. I was also very pleased with my meeting with Dr. Saif Al-Hajri, the star of the Qatar national team, who played with Al-Ahly Club in Abu Dhabi and won the championship with the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, may God rest his soul, in 1970 and 1971. He also scored a goal against our team in the fourth Gulf Cup in 1976. Every day we meet and enjoy the wonderful memories that had a great impact on our sports relationship. Qatari football connects us with beautiful memories. In 1971, the Egyptian Ismaili team visited us and played in Abu Dhabi in the presence of the late Sheikh Zayed, God willing, may God have mercy on him. The Abu Dhabi Police team sought the help of the Qatari star Khaled. Blanc played this match against the Egyptian team, which included Egyptian football stars and the African champions. These memories are appreciated by us. They were good days!
