A meeting of the Board of Directors of the Egyptian Rowing Federation was held in the city of Ismailia, on the sidelines of the Egypt Rowing Cup Championship. The meeting was chaired by Dr. Amr Al-Nouri, President of the Federation.
During the meeting, many important topics were discussed, and the Council took prominent decisions aimed at supporting and developing rowing in Egypt. Among these decisions
First: Approval in principle to hold an international master’s rowing championship in the governorates of Aswan, Luxor, and Cairo under the slogan “Clean Environment.” It is planned to begin addressing international bodies and obtaining the necessary approvals to organize this championship.
Second: Approval to provide the necessary logistical support and equipment to hold local championships, such as the Universities Indoor Rowing Championship (Argometer) at the American University in Cairo tomorrow, February 13, in addition to the Republic Rowing Championship in Cairo on March 1-2 next, and also the Armed Forces Rowing Championship in Cairo on days 4. Next March 6.
This is in addition to providing the necessary referee teams to referee these tournaments, through the Egyptian Referees Committee headed by international referee Sami Mahmoud Abu Al-Ela.
Taking these decisions comes within the framework of the efforts of the Egyptian Rowing Federation to promote the sport of rowing, spread it throughout the republic, and develop it at the local and international levels. These decisions reflect the federation’s commitment to providing the appropriate environment for practicing rowing and enhancing interest in sports in general in Egypt
