Dr. Yahya pointed out that the link between darts and tourism is confirmed in Sharm El Sheikh after the resounding success of last year’s darts tournaments, as evidenced by the high level of participation this year. He called upon the Ministry of Tourism, business associations, owners of tourist establishments, observers, and all those interested in Egyptian tourist destinations to support and promote this sporting/tourism initiative, given its added value to the national economy. This trend is followed by member countries of the World Darts Federation, and is clearly demonstrated annually in the competition to organize and host darts tournaments in their tourist destinations.

He added that darts in Egypt has witnessed a real boom thanks to the support and sponsorship of the Ministry of Youth and Sports. This has enabled Egypt to become the main center for darts in Africa and the Middle East, and a key hub for international and continental federations. Egypt has become the focus of global attention after hosting the Egypt International Championship for the fourth time so far, as well as African and Arab continental championships. Hosting these tournaments is expected to bolster the Egyptian sports scene and send a clear message to the international community that Egypt continues to lead in sports development and organize world-class events to professional standards.

Dr. Yahya then gave a brief overview of each tournament as follows:

First: The Egypt International Championship (Egypt Darts Open & Masters). The Egypt International Championship is one of the most important tournaments on the global darts calendar, representing a strong competitive platform for players seeking ranking points and international experience.

It features elite players from Europe, Africa, and the Middle East, in a competitive atmosphere that highlights Egypt’s excellence in organizing and hosting major tournaments. Second: The Afro-Arab Tournament
The Afro-Arab Tournament brings together national teams and players from Africa and the Arab world in a unified event that fosters regional sports cooperation. This tournament contributes to raising the level of the game within the region, in addition to strengthening ties between darts federations in Africa and the Arab world, and providing a strong platform for discovering emerging talents.

Third: The Arab Teams Tournament
The Arab Teams Tournament is one of the most prominent team events in this festival, where Arab national teams compete in an atmosphere that reflects team spirit and teamwork. This tournament aims to support Arab federations and expand the game’s base, as well as enhance its presence at the international level, given the growing interest in darts among Arab countries.

Fourth: Egypt International Paradars Championship – The First of its Kind in Africa and the Middle East

For the first time in the region’s history, Egypt is hosting an internationally accredited paradars championship with the participation of a large number of athletes with disabilities from around the world. This event underscores Egypt’s leading role in supporting Paralympic sports and providing a fair and professional competitive environment for athletes, under the auspices of the Egyptian Darts Federation and in cooperation with the International Paradars Federation.
