It seems that last Friday’s meeting has increased Sir Jim Ratcliffe, the famous English billionaire and CEO of INEOS, to insist on buying the English club Manchester United, which intensifies the competition between him and the Qatari Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad Al Thani.
This pleased the American royal Glazer family, which aspires to sell the most famous English club for 6 billion pounds sterling, but despite the keenness of Sir Ratcliffe, 70, and the owner of the French club Nice, to visit the Glazer brothers inside the club, and to conduct purchase talks personally, We find that the Qatari sheikh did not come in person to settle the deal, and a high-ranking delegation was sent on his behalf and held 10-hour talks with the Glazer family, which were described as fruitful so far.
But it seems that Sir Ratcliffe plays on the chord of the social aspect, and that the club carries an English identity and on British soil, and should not deviate from it again, so he besieges Glazer in order to acquire 69% of the club, taking advantage of the fans’ anger at Glazer, especially after clamping down on them. Recently, the prices of tickets to attend the matches were raised, and Ratcliffe insists on paying an estimated amount less than the aspirations of the royal family, which may favor the Qataris in the future, as the number of bidders reached five and is scheduled to reach eight before the close of the bidding date tomorrow night, Wednesday.
It is ironic that all of these bids did not reach the amount of 4.5 billion pounds sterling, as previously presented by the Qataris, but did not exceed 1.5 billion pounds sterling only, which explains the anger of the Glazer family, but it prompted others to bid to win the Red Devils club. But despite this blockade, Glazer insists on reaching the desired amount of $ 6 billion, otherwise she will keep her club while pumping some money into it to reduce its debts and make fundamental reforms that would balance the balance, and reconsider the evaluation of the old club.
