Parliamentary and media leaders praise the importance of the role of national documentation
Al Wasl Club’s achievement reaches the heart of culture and knowledge through the major event during the opening of the Mohammed bin Rashid Library, for the Arab Press Exhibition, which includes more than 500 periodicals from local, Arab and international newspapers and magazines dating back to the nineteenth century, as the exhibition provides an exceptional experience and an inspiring journey for visitors, intellectuals and journalists between the lines and pages of history.
Colleague Mohammed Al Joker, author of the new documentary edition “The Return of the Emperor and the Historical Duality” was keen to present the book to His Excellency Mohammed Ahmed Al Murr, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Library Foundation, former Speaker of the National Council, His Excellency Saqr Ghobash, Speaker of the Federal National Council, and Dr. Mohammed Salem Al Mazrouei, Member of the Board of Directors and former Secretary-General of the National Council, in the presence of a group of members of the Board of Directors and senior officials in many sectors and institutions, in addition to an elite group of media professionals, journalists, intellectuals and public figures.
The parliamentary, cultural and media leaders stressed the importance of the role of national documentation, each in its own field, especially sports, which are practiced by the sons of the nation and find great support, pointing out the importance of transferring experiences, exchanging knowledge and benefiting from the experiences and knowledge of current and future generations, while ensuring the role played by journalists in this regard, and colleague Al-Joker was the best face for these national roles in documenting sports in general in the UAE and much of the history of Arab and Gulf sports. The parliamentary leaders stressed that sports documentation and historical information have great reliability when the author has experience in the journalism profession and in sports, which is what colleague Mohammed Al-Joker provided, and this was positively reflected in his support of the Arab and Emirati library with 24 books, each one telling about historical events and eras that are a real reference when searching for information. They appreciated the coincidence of the launch of the book “The Return of the Empress” on the occasion of Al Wasl Club’s historic double in winning the league and cup championships, with the major event of holding the Arab Press Exhibition, so that the book becomes a bridge across time linking the past and the present to document the beautiful and wonderful achievements made by one of the largest clubs in the country. Colleague Mohammed Al Joker, author of the book, expressed his pride that his 24th book in the field of documenting sports and achievements, is in this major exhibition held in one of the most important cultural centers in the Arab region, the Mohammed bin Rashid Cultural Library, noting that the content of the exhibition makes him even more proud of his new editions, as the exhibition included a rich history of books and magazines of historical value, and it was a suitable opportunity to learn about the history of Arab sports journalism. Al Joker said that sports score a goal in all locations through their presence in such important events, especially since the history of sports journalism is very old, as we knew sports magazines in the early fifties and they have influential roles. He expressed his pride in his career in sports media work, part of which was the trend towards the field of sports documentation.
