Maryam Younis, a player for the Egyptian women’s national team, succeeded in qualifying for the quarter-finals of the under-17 competitions in the Egypt International Championship for men and women, held at the Hassan Mostafa Halls in 6th of October, during the period from October 23 to the 29 of the same month.
Maryam was able to win the two group stage matches over the Egyptian champion, Laila Al-Aqbawi, and the Moroccan champion, Hafsa Boukhair, to qualify for the final 16, beat the Egyptian champion, Nour Salah, and ensure her place in the top eight.
The U-13 girls’ competitions were also held today, starting from the group stage until the round of 16, and the rest of the matches will resume tomorrow, starting from the quarter-finals until the final match in the U-13 and U-17 events.
It is expected that the group stage activities will begin tomorrow with competitions for the under-11, 15, and 19-year-old girls’ levels in the morning period, with the knockout rounds being held on Sunday.
