Korean star Heo Jim Kim was crowned champion of the Aramco Golf Team Series presented by the Public Investment Fund after coming in first place in the tournament held at the New Korea Club in Seoul.
The South Korean star, who joined the Women’s European Tour and WTA Tour events, gave an unforgettable performance in front of the game’s fans in a round that took place after the rain stopped, and she was able to move to six under par, and set up a strong final set with Mariago Uribe, who scored -4, and Charlie Hull -3.
Despite a strong start from Charlie Hall, Heo Jim Kim was able to focus on the title mission as she scored a ‘birdie’ on holes 14, 16 and 17 to remain in command.
The South Korean star said in her press conference after the victory: “Playing alongside Charlie definitely showed my competitive advantage, especially when scoring a lot of birdies in any set, it raises the competitive spirit, as Charlie contributed to making me play with a lot of focus, so I am really happy with the win, especially since “My first win on the Women’s European Tour and I will celebrate this win here in Korea before I return to training.”
On the team level, the last day witnessed an exciting round in the team competition, as Kang’s team succeeded in winning it after scoring a score of 23 under the par, ahead of Oribe’s team.
Speaking at the winning team’s press conference, Danielle Kang emphasized what her team did that secured the win. Kang confirmed that her visit to Korea was an unforgettable visit and said: “Golf is often viewed as an individual sport, so playing as a team was fun.” “.
She added: “Playing within a team is something special because the team makes a big difference on the mental and physical level. I personally prefer team coordination because it motivates me to perform better. It is a more satisfying feeling than winning alone.”
Returning to the singles competition, this was not the case for Charlie Hall that day, who despite her final round of four under par, came in second place after the winner, Hyo Joo Kim.
For Hall, who recorded a string of five birdies in seven holes at the front, there were plenty of positives to take, as she continues her bid for her first win since 2022.
On this occasion, she said: “I played well and I am happy with the results I achieved during this week in general, but it is difficult when you do not win and are in second place again.”
The Aramco team series presented by the Public Investment Fund will head to London during the period from July 3 to 5.
