A strong Emirati start in the Asian Championship for our clubs, as the first round of the competition ended and our teams achieved good results at the elite level and the Champions League, with Al Wasl winning and Al Ain drawing in the first, and Shabab Al Ahli and Sharjah winning in the second, which bodes well for a promising future for Emirati clubs in this major continental event.
In the Elite Championship, the Wasl Emperor returned with a valuable victory from the Uzbek capital, Tashkent, after defeating its host, Pakhtakor, with a goal without a response, after the Zabeel Panthers imposed their strong personality and confirmed their strong determination to move forward in the major continental competition, and in contrast, Al Ain settled for a 1-1 draw against its guest, Al Sadd of Qatar, and Al Ain succeeded in achieving a draw against this distinguished team.
Which was previously crowned with the title and is considered one of the candidates to go far in the competition, and in the “Champions League 2”, the Eastern King returned with a valuable victory from Dushanbe, the capital of Tajikistan, by defeating its host, Istiklol, by one goal to none, while the Knights of Shabab Al-Ahli had a strong start to achieve a dazzling victory over its guest, Al-Hussein Irbid, Jordan, by three goals to one. With these distinguished results, it was confirmed that our clubs are at the peak of readiness for this major Asian event, and I searched in the four Asian matches for the “citizen” players, but I did not find them in the form that we were accustomed to previously due to the decision of the Asian Federation. As well as our internal decisions that give a greater opportunity to non-citizen players, I searched for them and found only a small number, as the financial spending goes to them and this is one of the reasons why some clubs are moving to cancel the group games that we call “the martyr”, and this matter is one of the issues that imposes itself on the scene, and opinions differ on it “in the past” when a club withdraws or thinks of canceling the game, the administrations of the relevant federations hold emergency sessions to discuss the matter, and committees are even formed to visit the clubs and seek to convince them and intervene, as we used to have federations that thought about the public interest, but today, unfortunately, most of them are far removed from the reality of these games!! And I left them to die while they were standing! Let’s go back to the non-citizen players.. I was the most cautious about increasing the number and returning to the normal situation by providing a greater opportunity for the citizen player, but continuing in this way is not in the interest of the game in the long run! While we are watching the screen, we search for our friends, where are they, but we do not find them except for those with tattoos and other methods that have entered our stadiums, and the reason is fake professionalism. Now we leave this matter aside for a while, and return to our “league”, the third round of which starts today, Saturday, with very strong confrontations, led by the summit of Al Wasl and Al Nasr, Al Jazira and Sharjah, and tomorrow, Sunday, Shabab Al Ahli and Al Wahda. These are heavyweight matches that are expected to be full of excitement, rivalry and strength, allowing the fans to spend enjoyable football evenings, especially since they are held on non-working days. My advice to the parents and administrations of the clubs, especially since the fans we see are mostly young school students, so the focus must be on their studies, and we are at the beginning of the school stage. And God is behind the intention
