About the Moroccan national team – by / Badr Al-Din Al-Idrisi
Whoever believes that the Atlas Lions have reached a state of saturation and are repeating what the 1986 generation accomplished there in Mexico, by advancing to the second round as leaders of the group of death, is wrong.
Whoever imagines that the national team will enter its match against the Spanish El Matador decomposing from all psychological pressure, because from today he will not be held accountable for anything, he is delusional, because the pressure that stimulates, incites and prepares all the senses to be alert, there is a large amount of it in the camp of the national team, and the reason is simple. It is very important that our national team, and we are with it, realize that history opened its golden records to write a new page of the glory of my country, so how can we not make history?
How many opportunities will come after today for us to be in such an ideal situation, so why don’t the players press on their fatigue and wounds to complete the legendary path? Why does the “spherical” miracle seem so close to us, so that we do not respond to the beautiful destiny and create something that future generations will be proud of?
For the Spain match, our national team will come, confident that it is wanted to write history, and it will not break the deadline.
Of course, the Lions know who they will meet, who they will come into contact with, and with whom they will share the dream of reaching the quarter-finals of the World Cup in Qatar. They know that who they will meet in Education City in the seventh round of the eighth round, the Spain national team that has been yearning since 2010, the year of its first World Cup crowning, For new crowns that he carries, and for medals and necklaces on his chest that he places, he wants his likeness, which he gave as a gift to the world, to give him the remaining glorious signs.
Our national team knows that it will face the king of possession, it will face a team whose players cannot walk a single meter when they do not have the ball, a team that breathes with the ball and presses the opponent to crush its defense system, and if there is a team that outperforms everyone in possession rates, it is certainly the Spanish matador who carried it to the world Years ago, it was called “tiki-taka,” and its club, Barcelona, dominated world football for a long time.
Our national team knows that it will be put under terrible pressure from the start of the match, deprived of the ball, and forced to remain in its area without leaving it, and that will never harm it, because it has experienced similar situations in the matches in Croatia and Belgium. The strongest defeats from teams humiliated them due to their negative possession, and perhaps the last example of this painful fact is the Spain-Japan match, which the Matadors lost despite the fact that their possession rate amounted to 82.3 percent compared to 17.7 for the Samori, and the number of his passes amounted to 1058 passes compared to 288 for Japan.
The Atlas Lions know that Tuesday will be another day in the era of making happiness, so they want the match against Spain to be the beginning of a new dream. Our national team, along with its captain and coach Walid Al-Saeed, gave a new definition to the dream, a dream that, if associated with determination, persistence and will, turned into reality, not into nightmares.
How can we do to the Spain national team what the Japanese did to it, and other teams that turned the opponent’s possession into a whirlwind of sand that blinded its owners?
This is the question that Walid asks himself and his lions.
I think he has the answer, and the first answer is supposed to be that the lions are very calm and focused and that their chests are filled with enough patience to resist the Spanish helicopters, which we hope will not bring neither wind nor rain, and that they will be met by Moroccan counterattacks that break the stakes and shake the pillars..
Good luck to our lions, may God be with you, all Moroccans support you and all Arabs pray for you.
