The Aramco Women’s Golf Team Series presented by the Public Investment Fund concluded in Tampa, Florida, where German player Alexandra Forsterling was crowned champion.
The final day’s result of five under par helped German Forsterling register a strong competition against world number eight Charlie Hall and Solheim Cup star Carlotta Sengandha.
The German placed herself on the leaderboard on the last day after she presented her best technical performance, which gave her a strong chance of moving towards the lead and winning the title, which is considered her third on the Women’s European Tour and the first title in the World Series of Events, so the German star is happy to add her name to a prestigious list of Alongside golf’s biggest stars.
On this occasion, Forsterling said: “I feel exhausted and I do not know what to say at these moments.” She added: “It is a wonderful feeling. I was definitely nervous, especially in the final round, during which I tried to give my best.”
The German, who became a professional last season, is credited with placing herself alongside the legendary names in Solheim. Regarding this matter, she said: “I felt afraid at first. It is a wonderful thing to play against big names like Charlie Hull and Carlota Ciganda. As for playing in the Solheim Cup, it is a great honor for me.” For any player, representing Europe would be a wonderful thing for me.
Vorsterling will represent Team Europe later this year at the 2024 Solheim Cup, held at Robert Trent Jones Golf Club, moving into second place in the qualifiers based on points.
On the other hand, player Charlie Hall said: “It was not exactly the result I wanted. The atmosphere was more comfortable on the last day, but it was very difficult when I hit some fairly good shots and they just bounced, but I feel good, and I played hard all the time.”
In a related context, Carlota Ciganda and Bronte ranked in the top five, along with Lexi Thompson from the USA team, who is not unlikely to win such tournaments.
As for the Indian player Dishka Dakar, who came in fifteenth place, she is considered the only one from outside Europe to achieve this position, which confirms her position among the European teams.
Regarding her performance and where the game is heading in India, she said: “It was not easy, but on some holes I had some good shots and faced some challenges due to the wind, but in the end things were fine.
“As for golfers in India, they are performing well, especially in recent years, when the number of players has become larger and not as it was in previous years.
The Aramco Team Championship Series, presented by the Public Investment Fund, will move on its next tour to South Korea during the period from May 10 to 12, where the best female golfers will compete again for a new achievement.
