To host the FIFA Club Confederations Cup Qatar 2024™️, which will see three matches between four of the best clubs on the continents compete to win the international title on 11, 14 and 18 December, with three trophies being presented to the winning clubs in the new tournament.
The first match, which will determine the winner of the FIFA Derby of the Americas Qatar 2024, will kick off at Stadium 974 tomorrow, Wednesday, December 11, at 8pm, and will bring together CONCACAF champions Pachuca of Mexico and CONMEBOL Libertadores champions Botafogo of Brazil.
The road to the FIFA Club Confederations Cup Qatar 2024™️ has seen both teams rise to continental glory and book their places in the tournament. Pachuca had previously won their sixth CONCACAF Champions League title, while Botafogo had reached the podium as South American champions for the first time in their history. Botafogo also won the domestic league title for the first time since 1995, putting them on track to win more titles in Doha.
The 44,000-capacity Stadium 974 is one of the World Cup stadiums built specifically for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022™️, having hosted seven matches during the global event. It is set to host two matches during the upcoming tournament, embodying the sporting legacy of Qatar 2022 and its commitment to sustainability principles.
The second match hosted by Stadium 974 will see the African champions Al Ahly take on the champions of the FIFA Derby of the Americas Qatar 2024 on 14 December at 8pm.
Al Ahly, known as the Club of the Century, enjoys a large fan base and is the most successful club in the history of African football, having won the CAF Champions League 12 times, making them the club with the most titles ever.
The curtain falls on the tournament with the final match between the winners of the FIFA Challenge Cup Qatar 2024 and Real Madrid, the winners of the European Champions League, to compete for the FIFA Club World Cup Qatar 2024™️, in a match that will attract attention from around the world to crown the best club in the world for the year 2024.
Real Madrid qualified for the tournament after winning the Champions League for the fifteenth time in its history, achieving a precedent that is the first of its kind at the club level in Europe. The prestigious club, known as Los Blancos, enjoys a large fan base around the world, and is expected to receive huge support in the anticipated encounter at the iconic Lusail Stadium, which can accommodate 89,000 fans.
Lusail Stadium is considered the jewel of the eight World Cup stadiums that hosted the Qatar 2022 World Cup, which concluded with a historic final that is still fresh in the memory of football fans around the world. It also hosted the final of the 2023 AFC Asian Cup, which saw the Qatari national team crowned the Asian Cup for the second time in a row, which broke the record for the number of fans in the history of the continental event.
In addition to using two world-class World Cup stadiums to host the FIFA Club World Cup Qatar 2024™️, the modern training grounds that were designated to train the teams participating in the Qatar 2022 World Cup will also be used, providing players with an ideal experience that rises to the level of the international event. The tournament also provides an opportunity for fans coming to Qatar to visit many of the country’s tourist and heritage landmarks, and enjoy the hospitality and warm welcome that are an essential part of Qatar’s cultural identity.

Lusail Stadium will also have a sensory room for people with sensory perception difficulties, including those with autism. Fans attending matches must present digital tickets using the official FIFA Intercontinental Cup Qatar 2024™️ app. All fans are required to have a ticket regardless of their age. Gates to the stadiums will open 3 hours before kick-off for both matches at Stadium 974, and 4 hours before kick-off at Lusail Stadium. A range of cultural events and activities, including live performances, will be held in the fan zone around the stadiums before matches.
