Attention is directed to the Thai capital, Bangkok, where Arab and foreign tourists abound these days, because the country has great potential that made it the most touristic country in the world, and since the sports issue is of interest to us, attention is directed towards “Bangkok”, which brings together the leaders of the sports movement in the Asian continent, where a number of federations are held. Its general assemblies, including the Athletics Federation, and the winning candidate by acclamation, Brigadier General Dahlan, who is efficient, will not be contested by anyone. Perhaps the most important of them are also the elections of the Olympic Council of Asia at the level of the presidency of the Council, and the vice-presidents for the regions, wishing success to our representative to Osama Al-Shaafar, Vice President of the International Cycling Federation, President of the Asian Cycling Federation, Who submitted his candidacy file for the position of Vice-President of the Olympic Council of Asia for West Asia, where Al-Shaafar is competing with his brother, Dr. Thani bin Abdul Rahman Al-Kuwari, Second Vice-President of the Qatar Olympic Committee, for the position of Vice-President of the Olympic Council of Asia for West Asia.
Bangkok is witnessing, during the meeting of the General Assembly of the Olympic Council of Asia tomorrow, strong competition for the presidency of the Olympic Council of Asia between Kuwaitis, in a precedent that is the first of its kind at the global level in that two athletes from one country compete for the same position – the presidency of the Olympic Council of Asia – where Sheikh Talal applied for the position. Al-Fahd, who is seeking to succeed his older brother Sheikh Ahmed Al-Fahd in the post.
The other Kuwaiti in the struggle for the presidency of the Olympic Council of Asia is Hussein Al-Musallam, president of the International Swimming Federation and current director of the Olympic Council of Asia, who is also seeking the presidency.
Sheikh Talal Al-Fahd enjoys the support of many Asian Olympic committees, due to the close relations that bind him with many Asian sports leaders. There are attempts by the Muslim camp to continue the struggle for the presidency of the Olympic Council of Asia.
All I hope is that we agree on one candidate for the presidency, in order to appear in an honorable manner before the 45 member states of the Continental Olympic Council! Thus, we find the presidential chair confused, so who will it be!! And the God of the intent behind.
