Our colleague Muhammad Al-Joker, Secretary General of the Sports Media Association, launched his twenty-first documentary edition, the book (Qasim Sultan… 50 Sports Years Full of Giving), in which he documents one of the outstanding community and sports leaders in the history of Emirati sports, a witness to the era, and one of the first pioneers in our sports career.
Qasim Sultan Al-Banna is one of the influential figures in the field of community and sports work over the course of more than 5 decades. He spent a loyal soldier in the service of the nation since the dawn of the Union and the beginning of the 1970s. He is still a torch that shines with this giving to guide the rising generations. Therefore, he deserved this important documentation, which was written by our colleague Muhammad Al-Joker in the new book. (Qasim Sultan…50 mathematical years of giving) to be an important reference.
The book, which came from the large collection, is a new qualitative addition to the Emirati sports library because it contains a detailed account of the influential career of one of the distinguished leadership figures, who contributed with his great contribution to the advancement and development of the sports movement through his mobile work in the service of the local community and the sports sector, as the book takes you on a journey. In-depth, more than 180 pages of great writing.
Our colleague Muhammad Al-Joker made a significant effort in collecting, monitoring, writing and revising the book over a period of ten months to come in 10 diverse chapters summarizing the generous career of Qassem’s athletic personality. The book begins with a wonderful speech written by Counselor Ibrahim Muhammad Bu Melha, Advisor to His Highness the Ruler of Dubai for Cultural and Humanitarian Affairs and Chairman of the Organizing Committee. For the Dubai International Holy Quran Award, which praised Abu Salah’s career and his important role at all levels.
In the first chapter, the author discussed the role of wise leadership through a Dubai Press Club symposium. On the reality of Emirati football in the future of the game, in the presence of the wise leadership, entitled: Ambition, Eminence, and Achievements, while the second chapter was devoted to the influence of sport on Zayed’s thought, a platform of work under the title of Evidence and Positions.
In the third chapter, the author took inspiring stories about Qasim Sultan’s personal association with the (Shabab Al-Ahly Dubai) club, under the title (Eternal Love), his great home, to begin in the fourth chapter, reviewing his inspiring experiences under the title (Fingerprints with the Football Association), to then come up with stories to be told in the fifth chapter, Stories. Sports, the most important of which is the recruitment of international coach Don Revie.
In the sixth chapter, the author returns to explain how the leadership personality of Qasim Sultan in sports was formed through his journey entitled (Giving the Years). Then, in the seventh and eighth chapters, the author presents Abu Salah’s successes and a number of positions that were translated in many media interviews and his frank and clear opinions that qualified him to lead the ship in The National Olympic Committee and the Football and Basketball Federations in important eras under the title Half a Century of Sports, Thoughts and Stories.
In the ninth and penultimate chapter, which is titled Memories and Days, the author summarizes the history and achievements of clinching championships and the most important positions that required enlightened thought and good management mastered by Qasim Sultan. Then, in the tenth chapter, he presents memoirs and impressions of various life experiences that shed light on the other side of this leader’s creativity in various fields. Such as writing, writing, and success in community work through his assuming the position of Director General of the Municipality during the most important eras of the cultural development of the Emirate of Dubai, which today has become the best city in the world for living. He also reviewed his influence that extended beyond borders and his role in establishing the Arab Football Federation.
In the author’s speech, our colleague Muhammad Al-Joker was keen to praise the generosity of Qasim Sultan, who gave a lot of effort and was dedicated to working in any position assigned to him, whether in public or sports work, as this journey must be documented as a beautiful response to this pioneering national figure who deserves respect, appreciation and honor.
