A message to revive the culture in sports clubs
The Sharjah Book Authority has made sports a share and part of the agenda of the 42nd session of the Sharjah International Book Fair 2023, which closes its doors and bids farewell to its fans on Sunday evening, November 12th.
Recipient Hall 3 in the exhibition hall was busy with a valuable lecture by fellow writer and sports historian Muhammad Al-Joker, titled (Sports and Identity), which was ably moderated by our colleague Walid Al-Marzouqi.
A group of stakeholders in the sports and media field followed the interesting dialogue in which Bou Sultan, through his long experience, narrated historical topics about the role of clubs in enhancing cultural identity and raising generations that possess experiences and bear full awareness of the importance of the cultural role in human development and its reflection on society.
Our colleague Muhammad Al-Joker sent a message to officials in the youth and sports sectors to revive the cultural aspect, which has been a title for years in club slogans and through which he created leaders who are today among the leaders.
Al-Joker attributed the absence of cultural activities to successive administrations’ neglect of this aspect and focus on specific sports, which caused a vacuum in this aspect. He pointed out that the country’s clubs have known, since the founding of our country, to pay attention to the cultural aspect of their members through fixed platforms, the most prominent of which are cultural publications.
The attendees, who responded in a number of ways, unanimously expressed their happiness in meeting the dean of sports media professionals in this literary and cultural forum, not to sign a new book, but to enjoy an interesting and useful conversation.
A number of participants were keen to take pictures accompanied by the lecturer and the moderator, and the channels also conducted special interviews with Bou Sultan, all of which concluded with his renewed vision on sports and identity in the No. 1 country.
