Ahmed Al Shafar, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Al Wasl Club, stressed the importance of documenting sports events and achievements. This came after receiving the book “The Return of the Emperor” yesterday, referring to what colleague Mohammed Al Joker is doing in this field until he became the most prominent historian of Gulf sports in general and in the United Arab Emirates in particular. He said that the twenty-fourth edition of colleague Mohammed Al Joker “The Return of the Emperor” represents a book on the scale of the achievement made by Al Wasl team last season by winning the league and cup titles. It is a book that is considered a real addition to the sports library and an important reference that current and future generations benefit from, especially since the book documented the event with interest in a lot of accurate information in the history of the club through the different eras since its establishment.
He said that the book embodies the achievement in the second title on the cover “The Historical Duality: Generation Surrender to Generation” and it is one of the interesting books that colleague Mohammed Al Joker has been keen to issue, stressing that the media scene in the Emirates has been distinguished greatly thanks to the documentation through these editions of colleague Mohammed Al Joker.
Al Shafar praised the content of the book, which reflects the strenuous effort made by the author through the diverse media material across 13 chapters in more than 280 pages, accompanied by many rare photos and shots that document the achievements of Al Wasl Club, stories, tales, and situations. He pointed out that the book is attractive to read because of the media material it contains that represents the long journey of Al Wasl Club, and he said that the distinction of the book is not strange for the author who has provided the Arab and sports library with 23 books before this edition, which Al Wasl Club is very proud of and is considered a reference in the history of the club. At the end of his speech, he praised the author’s keenness to document sporting events at the state level, which was positively reflected in presenting UAE sports in a distinctive way, and introduced generations to the correct information, and various media outlets inside and outside the country benefited from this.
