MBC Media Solutions (MMS), the commercial arm of MBC Group, announced the renewal of its agreement with the Saudi Airport Group, owner of the “Airport App”, to sponsor the live broadcast of the Roshen Professional League, via SSC channels and the Shahid platform in the Middle East and North Africa, for the 2024-2025 sports season, following the success of sponsoring last season.
The agreement was signed by the CEO of MMS, Ahmed bin Attaf Al-Sahhaf, and the CEO and partner of the Airport Group, Ayman Saleh Basalama, at a signing ceremony held in Riyadh today.
The CEO of MMS, Ahmed Al-Sahhaf, welcomed the renewal of the partnership, stressing that such strategic partnerships enhance MBC Media Solutions’ continuous efforts to advance the sports system and demonstrate the strength of the Roshen Professional League, whose market value today exceeded the level of one billion dollars, making it among the list of “the top 10 most valuable leagues in the world”.
Regarding sponsorship contracts, Al-Sahhaf expressed his happiness with the growth witnessed by the Saudi League sponsorship contracts, as the growth rate reached 82.8% compared to the 2023-2024 season.
For his part, the CEO and partner of the Airport Group, Ayman Saleh Basalama, confirmed that the renewal of the live broadcast sponsorship agreement for the Roshn Professional League for the second year in a row comes from the group’s keenness to support Saudi sports and enhance its position as a global sports destination.
Basalama explained that the presence of international stars such as player Cristiano Ronaldo in the Saudi League reflects the Kingdom’s growing position as an influential sports power in the region.
He stated that this partnership is in line with the marketing objectives of “Almatar”, as it will allow the application to reach a wider audience of football fans in the region, noting that this step is part of the company’s strategic plan to expand its business and contribute to achieving the Kingdom’s Vision 2030.
He pointed out that the “Almatar App” sponsorship of sporting events, especially football matches, is an important step within the application’s strategic plan towards the 2034 FIFA World Cup, which the Kingdom is expected to host.
