• The quarter-finals of the Asian finals currently being held in Doha conclude today, and the surprises in it are very limited. Because those who came (in advance) for the title announced this before, and were nominated by experts and analysts, but there are those who came based on ambitions; It is based on wishes (Lord) and not on technical foundations that precede it into heroism.
• Gradually, the nominations tended towards teams such as Japan, South Korea and Australia, then to a lesser extent Iran due to its high international ranking, Saudi Arabia with its media reputation through the strongest Asian market for professionals, then Qatar through hosting the event, and other than that there was a kind of escape for teams; Based on unscientific ambitions.
• For example, if we take our national team (as an example), I believe that the ambitions were built on previous history, and not on the basis of good preparedness. Whether in terms of selecting players or hiring a coach, we were building on the basis of a surprise that would come here or there. As is the case at the top of the group, so escape is yours as we prepare for the double qualifiers!
• The case of escape is seen in a strong candidate like Saudi Arabia, with its heroic history and the reputation it gained through the professional league. But the justifications that preceded the team’s final appearance were that the coach did not choose the (best) players, and then the escape was through the coach leaving the field during the penalty shootout period, without discussing the real technical reasons for leaving!
•The real escape is for the Iraqi national team through its coach (Casillas); Which did not convey the media’s confidence even during the finals; But he benefited from the expulsion of his Liverpool striker for a reason that no honest expert would be convinced of. Defensive technical errors were what caused the loss. Many teams win while being outnumbered.
• I always hope that the federations and the media are realistic; It is not to look for unrealistic justifications to market its failure, or to adopt (fraudulent) visions in analytical (dialectical) programmes. A good way to escape from revealing the real reasons that prevented the continuation of the competition, and the escape was practiced by the federations and supported by the media!
