The Italian Table Tennis Federation shed light on honoring Alessandro Arcigli, the coach of the Italian national team, during the Egypt International Paralympic Table Tennis Championship, which is hosted by Dr. Hassan Mostafa Hall Complex in 6th of October.
The Italian Federation published an article about honoring Alessandro in the tournament on its official website, which read as follows: “In the Egyptian Championship for People with Special Needs, where the Azzurri are leading, with the help of coaches Massimo Bisciotti and Hwang Eunbit, coach Alessandro Archigli received a prestigious award.”
The article continued: “Shortly before the celebrations for Giada Rossi winning the gold medal, Carlotta Ragazzini’s silver, and Federico Crosara’s bronze in the singles competitions, the head of the Egyptian Table Tennis Federation, Moataz Ashour, and the advisor, Essam Zidane, wanted to give him recognition for the remarkable effort he had made. “Given the development of Paralympic tennis in African countries, Arcigli was credited with arousing the enthusiasm of Paralympic athletes, which gave a decisive impetus to doubling numbers and overall technical quality.”
The article added: “Alessandro, who is the President of the Paralympic Committee of the European Table Tennis Federation, was called upon to manage the first Paralympic training camp held on the African continent. The project allowed tennis players from Cameroon, Ivory Coast, Egypt, Mauritius, Nigeria and South Africa to train together and received great support.”
The Egypt International Paralympic Table Tennis Championship is currently being held with the participation of 27 countries with 184 male and female players as follows: Belgium, Chile, Czech Republic, Spain, France, Britain, Germany, Hong Kong, Hungary, India, Iraq, Italy, Japan, Kazakhstan, South Korea. , Saudi Arabia, Montenegro, the Netherlands, Norway, Romania, Slovakia, Sweden, Turkey, Ukraine, Venezuela, Yemen, in addition to Egypt, the host country.
