• Yesterday, I reviewed what Brother Ahmed Al-Akbari, President of Isa Town Club, presented regarding the visions for his club’s future plan. For the football and basketball fields, and the intention is to buy six houses behind the club to increase the area. In a way that suits the establishment of the expected project, which is an ambition that we hope will be achieved quickly and fulfill the hopes of the people of the city.
• There is no doubt that this renewed city; From the beginning, it needed something larger than the area available to the club and would allow it to expand, or at least for the Khalifa City facilities (currently) to be the club, and the current area.
It is being used for an investment project that serves the club. Talking about a club for a large city must look to future prospects!
• In fact, any planning to establish new housing cities; It is supposed to include spaces for establishing integrated club facilities (a football stadium, a reserve field, a multi-purpose hall that can accommodate competitive matches, and a swimming pool), and even spaces suitable for social places, and this is what is supposed to be in the cities of Hamad and Salman.
• These visions are not new. The late Abdullah Al-Asfour, a former member of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, confided to me the establishment of such comprehensive gatherings in various governorates. If it had been allowed to enter into planning, we would currently have the best sports facilities, especially since we have newly established housing cities.
• Also among the matters that were discussed in the corridors of the Supreme Council was the expansion of gymnasiums in the newly established schools of the Ministry of Education and the study of making their dimensions suitable for holding sports competitions. Whether school or those held by collective sports federations, Brother Ali Al-Asfour indicated such an opinion during his previous membership in the Council.
• Of course, this does not detract from the role played by the General Sports Authority in developing and expanding the establishment of stadiums, and this was pointed out by the CEO and Director of Facilities; While briefing the media on the process of developing the Bahrain National Stadium ground, they indicated that the new budget will include the development of quite a few stadiums.
