Our date today is the friendly international football match between Egypt and Algeria in the beautiful green city of Al Ain. It is a historic match that we hope is wonderful and beautiful inside and outside the field, bringing together loved ones and two brotherly Arab-African teams. The match itself is something we are proud of as it is between two of the best Arab teams, and comes within the framework of preparations. For the African Cup of Nations and other tournaments, I personally hope that the match will take place in a wonderful brotherly atmosphere. Today’s match made me remember Mohammed Khalfan Al Rumaithi, President of the Football Association, 13 years ago, when he invited the two teams to play a friendly match on the land of Zayed Al Khair and Giving, with the aim of returning things to normal. It was established between the two countries after the events that accompanied their famous match in the qualifiers for the 2010 World Cup in South Africa. It was the first sincere invitation from a senior Arab sports official, who was inspired by these trends by our wise leadership. On that day, the invitation came in a kind, generous and timely manner.
Today we are happy in the Emirates to see this Arab dream come true, and we celebrate the brothers among us here on our good land. We are happy with such friendly matches between our Arab teams, where there are a large number of members of the Arab communities, especially the two communities dear to our hearts, the Egyptian and Algerian, the land of the Emirates. It will remain an essential station for brotherly and friendly peoples. It is the land of safety and stability. As Al-Rumaithi said that day, the invitation is open to the national teams and football icons in the two countries, in order to meet on our stadiums. It is an opportunity to remove everything in the souls for the sake of a unified Arab sport. Today we must open Our hearts go out to each other and we forget our differences that caused us death. What happened after, before, and during the meeting between the two brotherly teams was like a shock, a “summer cloud” that has dissipated, praise be to God, and here is the day we see them “Dar Al-Zein.” Football is for rapprochement between all peoples, so what if There were many ties between two brotherly teams that were not affected by victory or loss. Football, in the end, could not affect the strength and durability of the good and historical relations between the two countries… and God is behind the intention.
