About the Moroccan national team – written by Badr Al-Din Al-Idrissi
I remember that, in the wake of the distinguished and even historic World Cup edition for the national team, and we were waking up from the beautiful surprise and the World Cup placing Morocco as the fourth best team in the world, I stressed the necessity of investing in the great World Cup achievement, and investment is, in fact, horizontal in sustaining the successes of the national teams, and ensuring their survival. We have been at the top of the pyramid for a long time, which we did not ascend by chance, but with painstaking and hard work that continued for many years, and I do not believe that there will be a success that follows the historic World Cup for the Atlas Lions in Qatar, better than being the national team for the next edition of the African Cup of Nations hosted by the Elephants Country early next year.
As for investing in vertical achievement, it consists of delving deeper into the base of practice, to reach more areas that have not yet been reached by the evaluation tool, by betting on a philosophy of formation that is compatible with our nature and with the requirements of modern football, in the hope of expanding the base for forming elites, which is what is imposed on national clubs, To move its wisdom and management to better levels than it is today.
Of course, to this day we have not been able to control the speed of progress in this deep structural work with the speed required by this stage, due to the presence of many faults and imbalances, even though the National Technical Administration surprised us a few days ago when it was talking about a national training project that would achieve the national teams’ semi-self-sufficiency, through shopping. From national training centers, attracting players with dual nationalities is limited to 50 percent.
Today, a dream that we have pursued for 35 years has come true, and Morocco is declared an organizing country for the 2030 World Cup, alongside Spain and Portugal. Sustaining the successes and investing in this great position that Morocco occupies in the global football scene has surrounded us with many responsibilities, the most important of which is to act as a host country. Seven years from now, there will be a World Cup, just as I demanded months ago that we act as a football country as a country ranked fourth in the world in the World Cup scale.
Acting as a host country for the World Cup does not only mean working at an accelerated pace in all the huge structural, structural and construction projects required to organize a global event such as the World Cup, which are closely connected to our great development project, but also to advance our football culture and make our stadiums, which are theaters for spectators, empty. From all the seeds of violence and riots, and completely isolated from all the prohibitions imposed by FIFA, most notably the artificial meteors and meteors, which make the matches lose their beauty and charm, and often expose them to many pauses that kill the rhythm.
You can count all the differences that exist between international matches that are under the supervision of FIFA, and national matches that fall under the responsibility of the National League of Professional Football. While complete strictness is present in the confiscation of harmful sparklers, firecrackers, and meteors, we do not find in fact anything that prevents the presence of these prohibited firecrackers and fireworks. In the national championship stadiums, despite the penalties and financial fines issued by the university’s disciplinary committee based on the match regulations, which in fact burden the national clubs.
The spectacle of the stands, which we as media have always praised, and said that it sometimes compensates us for the poverty of the football content displayed by the players, is never found in the fireworks and incendiary meteors that spread clouds of smoke in the stadiums and waste lives and facilities, but it is found in the cultural messages that are conveyed by the mouthpieces raised in the stadiums. Beautiful calligraphic expressions, in addition to the players’ enthusiastic songs created by the supporters’ associations.
The big bet for Morocco, which hosts the Lions of two World Cups, is for images to emerge from Morocco saying that our country has now entered the orbit of the World Cup, beautified by its charm and imbued with its morals. Therefore, we must make all the matches of our clubs and national teams an anthem that we convey with sound and movement to the whole world, the voice of creativity. Which makes football the language of tolerance, love and peace.
