About the Moroccan national team – written by Badr Al-Din Al-Idrissi
From the King of Saad, good news has come to us, and His Majesty King Mohammed VI announces to Moroccans through a statement issued by the Royal Court the news that Morocco, Spain and Portugal have been chosen to organize the World Cup in its 2030 edition, the edition that celebrates the centenary of the global football event that united the world, in love and passion, A century ago.
Without the need for behind-the-scenes war, nor for racing rabbits, nor for the pain of waiting behind the sleeves and counting votes and pulses, the International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) Executive Committee decided to make the Moroccan-Spanish and Portuguese bid the sole candidate to host the 2030 World Cup, thus fulfilling the dream of the continent that we have sought since 1986. When we submitted the first nomination to host the 1994 World Cup, under the guidance of the genius king, the late His Majesty King Hassan II, may God rest his soul.
FIFA did not end with the cunning of its president, Gianni Infantino, for this formula, except because it succeeded with great skill in managing the negotiations, by finding a unique proposal that will make the 2030 World Cup cross three continents for the first time in its history, as the countries of Uruguay, Argentina and Paraguay will host the first three matches. For this World Cup, in her honor, on the occasion of the World Cup celebrating its first centenary, she was the first host of this World Cup, which will unite the world from one end to the other.
From the first day that His Majesty King Mohammed VI announced the first good news, the day he was celebrated in Rwanda, by the Confederation of African Football, by granting him the Excellence Award, about Morocco joining Spain and Portugal in their endeavor to organize the 2030 World Cup, it seemed to everyone that the tripartite file was… Which brings together two continents, forms an embrace between two civilizations, and recreates the natural magic and intellectual and cultural richness that emerged like turquoise from Bahrain. It is too great to resist with its attractiveness, and too great to compete with for its elegance and power, even if the competitor is the four Latin countries that were the cradle of world football.
The consensus that Morocco obtained from the FIFA Executive to stand alongside the neighbors of reconciliation and development, Spain and Portugal, days after the consensus it received from the CAF Executive to organize the 2025 edition of the World Cup, is a consensus of trust and appreciation for a Morocco that, as King and people, has issued many high-level human values, and made The whole world bows before his patience, perseverance, and clinging to a dream.
The global, post-continental consensus on Morocco’s eligibility to host two major football events is the most beautiful reward Morocco can receive for the hope it has planted, the work it has watered, and the chivalry, determination and maturity it has shown in planning its journey towards this consensus.
The world has seen with its own eyes, just as Africa has seen with the naked eye, the effort Morocco was expending to innovate patterns of management, and the patience it was having in order to achieve its World Cup dream, the dream of bringing the whole world together for the second time in the African continent, and it has regained its glory, brilliance and ambition. To create a beautiful future, and this consensus was created with credibility and sincerity, with the voice of wisdom that is present in the management of many issues, a wisdom embodied by the King of the country, His Majesty King Mohammed VI, in his creation of a development project that astonished the world with its solidity and cohesion and the amount of genius present in it.
We congratulate ourselves for all these successes, and we thank God for guiding us to where we are today, and we realize that what has been placed on our shoulders is heavy responsibilities, the responsibility of making the African football family happy as it meets in our tent in 2025, and the responsibility of honoring Africa as we host the World Cup in its name in 2030, with ambition. It is great that the second World Cup in Africa is a unique version, beautiful in its form and content.
God is the Helper.
