Morocco will become the second African country and the second Arab country to host the FIFA World Cup, after the success of its experience in organizing the Club World Cup, after the withdrawal of its competitors. The honor of hosting the 2013 and 2014 editions is well deserved.
Morocco did not succeed in 4 attempts to host the World Cup for national teams, the last of which was the 2010 World Cup, which went to South Africa. The desire of the Moroccan brothers was clear, and their request met the conditions, before the deadline expired, and we in the Emirates have always been supportive of the brothers.
Their story with the World Cup is old, and has long stories, and from the standpoint of my Arab patriotism, I was keen to attend most of the meetings of Arab youth ministers, which always sought to stand behind Morocco’s request, and we considered it our Arab football cause, and to support their request to organize the World Cup from the days of the late Moroccan Minister of Youth and Sports Abdel Latif Al-Semlali, and they had the right for us to adopt this issue, which has become the focus of attention of Arab sports leaders, and they had the right to win the organization of the World Cup, because they have the capabilities and capabilities to host and have a golden football team. We are proud of what they presented in the last World Cup in Doha, and here is Morocco today, returning. To be the second Arab country to receive the honor of hosting, after the brilliance of Qatar.
Morocco was on the verge of organizing the 94th World Cup, but the votes went to the United States, being the most powerful country in the world. Morocco could have won the 98th World Cup, but in the final vote, France won by only two votes. Therefore, it is logical that it would go to Morocco this time after it had advanced many times. Several, and collided with conspiracies, played by Western countries, and thus the blocs were one of the main reasons behind our failure, as Arabs, in organizing the major global event.
This victory will benefit Arab and African sports in general, as the current trend in Morocco has entered a new turn that focuses on sports in a new way, supporting the progress of Moroccan sports, because sports are no longer just competition, and the gains from this organization are many and varied in all political, economic, tourism and media aspects. We all stood behind the Moroccan organization, and we renew this promise once again, for the sake of convergence and brotherhood among the people of the Arab world. Sports need to intensify collective efforts in order to transcend borders, in light of the transformations and changes imposed by the interests of the new world order, and God is behind the intention. .
