It recently spread on social media, and most of the “groups” transmitted it, the image of the first Emirati football team, which reminded us of the old days, where the generation of our team represented the homeland at the beginning of the founding, and the first “shirt” color appeared for the team in the first football participation in the second Arabian Gulf Cup Which took place in Riyadh in the year 72 with the establishment of the state, and the “shirt” was of two colors, one of which was a green kit and the second kit in red with the emblem of the state’s colors. Only two kits were owned by the national team at the time, unlike the national teams in their various stages in the current period, as each team has more Of 10 kits, not just two kits, and I remember that we played in the second Gulf Championship every match with a kit, as we played against Qatar national team in red and won with a goal scored by Suhail Salem, and in the second match we played in green against Saudi Arabia and lost the match, and so we used to exchange colors, but the days were sweet, beautiful and easy Simple without complication!
The picture that was published on social media is 51 years old, but it is engraved in the memory and is not forgotten, and they were the first to represent us abroad in Riyadh, in the Arabian Gulf Football Cup, specifically in March of the year 72, with the beginning of the establishment of the Football Association, and we got At that time, they won the third place and the bronze medal, and the delegation at that time consisted of Ahmed Al-Midfa as head of the delegation, and the membership of the late Ahmed Al-Tajer as an administrator, Jumaa Gharib, Murad Refaat as secretary and media person, the late Egyptian trainer Muhammad Siddiq “Shehta”, and the citizen doctor, Dr. Mirza Al-Sayegh. This historical participation was published in More than one book about my story with the Gulf Cup tournaments. Given the importance of reminding, we write that many of the most prominent players who represented us in Riyadh and it was necessary to remember this generation that represented the homeland. The official, supported by the country’s emblem on their chests, before witnessing their honorable return with the bronze medal in their first official appearance in the Arab Gulf Football Tournaments.
History says that the first national team won the third place and the bronze medal, which was received by the national team from King Fahd bin Abdulaziz, may God rest his soul.
The list of players included: Ibrahim Ali Reda and Suhail Salem, who scored the only goal for our team in the tournament, Ahmed Issa, the captain of the team who carried the flag of the state at the opening ceremony, the late Nasser Hamad and Abdullah Khalil, who was essential before the competitions, was injured because the coach’s papers were messed up, and Jassim Muhammad Al-Far, the coach’s cousin Mahdi Ali And Abdul Rahman Al-Osaimi, Masoud Obaid, and Rajab Abdul-Rahman, who started his life as a right winger with the team and is good at playing in all positions, and Youssef Haji Nasser, the backup goalkeeper who played the Kuwait match, and he is from Al-Najah Club, and Dr. Hamdoun, Awad Mubarak, Muhammad Al-Kous and Salem Bushneen from Al-Nasr, Zaid Rabie and Mubarak in Al-Aswad, and the late Jamal Musa from Al-Khaleej and Youssef Muhammad Al-Orouba, noting that the merger of Al-Orouba and Al-Khaleej took place after the tournament in the year 73, and Saleh Musa was playing for one of the Abu Dhabi teams. Ahmed Othman, the founder of the Ismaili Club, who is the Egyptian star of Ismaili, formed a dangerous duet with Al-Mahrim Reda, the Ismaili player. We wanted to clarify these points, and God is behind the intent.
