Specific design revisions, enhanced standard equipment and progressive digital technology define the latest generation of the BMW X5 and BMW X6.
Subtle changes reinforce the success of the well-established BMW model pairing of the luxury sports car with the coupe and sedan.
The range of power units has undergone an overhaul, significantly increasing the electric range of the BMW X5 xDrive50e, with a plug-in hybrid drive system and introducing 48-volt mild hybrid technology in all other models. Next to the latest driving assistance systems, in addition to the BMW Curved Display and the BMW 8 Operating System.

These comprehensive revisions represent all the components required to cement the BMW X5’s position as a global market leader in its class and to consolidate the leading position of the BMW X6. Both models will continue to be built at the BMW Group Plant Spartanburg.
The new BMW X5 sports slim headlights and BMW’s signature illuminated kidney grille. The BMW X5 and BMW X6 proudly adopt the new design of the BMW kidney grille and BMW’s narrow headlights, with arrow-shaped daytime running lights that act as turn signal indicators. It also comes equipped with LED headlights and high beam assist as standard, and can also be specified with M Shadowline lights with black accents.
The BMW kidney grille has bright chrome surrounds and bars while the BMW Iconic Glow is offered as part of the M Sport Pro package. Iconic Glow is also activated when a door is opened, and the driver can manually turn it on or off. Vertical air curtains positioned at the outer edges emphasize the vehicle’s width. The lower air intake has horizontal pearl effect chrome detailing and triangular cutouts in the outer areas.
The new BMW X5 now comes standard with brushed aluminum roof rails and exterior trim, as well as underbody protection in Glacier Silver and a new rear apron geometry.
The redesigned taillights also turn heads with stunning fiber-optic light guide elements. The pulsating turn signals in the rear round add to the impressive illumination.
The new BMW X6 has an expressive front end with large air intakes. The model also features slim headlight units with arrow-shaped daytime running light elements, optionally designated as M Shadowline lights.
The BMW Iconic Glow kidney grille is available as part of the M Sport Pro package, while M Sport models feature the signature octagonal front grille below the BMW kidney grille, with striking side slits and black surfaces.
It also features a powerful design at the rear with slim lights extending into the tailgate. The M-specific side skirts and the high-gloss Shadowline underscore the graceful character of the new BMW X6.
The rear apron has a Dark Shadow insert, while the tailpipe trim is trapezoidal. The slim taillights also extend far into the tailgate, and their light signature echoes the familiar L-shape.
The model uses the latest 3.0-liter inline-six engine with BMW TwinPower Turbo Miller-cycle technology, which reduces intake manifold valve timing.
The new BMW X5 xDrive50e takes just 4.8 seconds to reach 100 km/h from a standstill.
The motor is connected to a high-voltage lithium-ion battery integrated into the next part, a product of the fifth generation of BMW eDrive technology.
