Counselor Osama Al-Saidi appealed to the Egyptian Parliament to abolish the Sports Law promulgated by Law No. 71 of 2017, which is the current law governing sports bodies, sports investment companies and all aspects of sports activity in Egypt, and the need to issue a new law for sports that includes legal texts governing and controlling sports activity in Egypt as well as legal texts Keeping pace with the great and rapid development in the field of sports investment and studying the experiences of Western countries that have achieved fantastic profits in the field of the sports industry, whether at the level of sports facilities or clubs or in the field of sports marketing.
Counselor Osama Al-Saidi stressed that sports investment is now considered one of the important economic sources, provided that it is dealt with professionally and with a culture that keeps pace with the development witnessed by sports investment.
Counselor Osama Al-Saidi added that he had spoken a lot in his articles nearly a year and a half ago about the existence of many texts of the articles of the current Sports Law that are stigmatized on suspicion of unconstitutionality, and what was expected was achieved with the issuance of the Supreme Constitutional Court ruling today that Article 69 of the Sports Law No. 71 of 2017 and the regulation of the system are unconstitutional. The foundation of the Egyptian Sports Settlement and Arbitration Center issued by Egyptian Olympic Committee Resolution No. 88 of 2017 amended by Resolution No. 2 of 2018.
Counselor Osama Al-Saidi added that he is not in the position of prosecuting the law, but the secretariat requires the abolition of this law in order for sports work to be straight and its desired goal to be achieved.
