The Egyptian capital, Cairo, witnessed a huge party on the sidelines of the celebration of the 50th anniversary of the dawn of historical relations between the Arab Republic of Egypt and the United Arab Emirates.
The closing ceremony of the UAE-Egypt Forum of Relations in 50 Years was held at the Reds Carlton Hotel, which took place over three consecutive days from October 26 to 28, and witnessed economic, historical, cultural, intellectual, and sports activities.
Which concerns sports in the two countries, which witnessed the inauguration of the second edition of the book “The Emirates and Egypt.. A Biography of Love” by the journalist Muhammad Al Joker, Secretary-General of the Sports Media Association in the United Arab Emirates, media advisor to the prestigious Al Bayan newspaper, in the presence and participation of a group of administrators and media professionals from Egypt, the UAE and some countries His Excellency Muhammad Abdullah Al Gergawi, Minister of Cabinet Affairs, and His Excellency Khalifa Shaheen, Minister of State and Ambassador, received it. Maryam Al Kaabi and His Excellency Dr. Ashraf Sobhi, the Egyptian Minister of Youth and Sports, who announced the inauguration of the book at the end of the sessions, and a large number of leaders in the two brotherly countries, noting the importance of this historical release. In the United Arab Emirates and in the Arab Republic of Egypt, which affected various libraries in most Arab countries on the sports level, especially in the Emirates and Egypt, and received great Arab and international resonance in recent years, and the media examined and scrutinized it because of its great importance that contributed to preserving the sports heritage The ancient in both the Emirates and Egypt during the past fifty years and before, which future generations will benefit from in increasing knowledge and expanding the circle of knowledge.
The book, in its first edition, was launched four months ago, on the eighth of last June, and was hosted by the Olympic Center in Maadi.
This new book by the journalist Muhammad Al-Joker is the eighteenth in a series of historical and documentary publications that he has issued in recent years throughout a long journey he spent in the court of Her Majesty, which reached 43 years, during which he enriched the Arab Sports Library with many documentary heritage books that contributed to preserving the sports heritage. In both the Emirates and Egypt, the most prominent of them is “Sports in Zayed’s Thought”, which received a wide Arab echo and was covered by most of the Arab media with a lot of research and study due to its heritage and historical stations and sporting events that were not known to the new generations. United Arab Emirates Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, “may God rest his soul”, and the book “A Nation of Gold”, which was interested in documenting a 50-year journey that dealt with the football journey in the United Arab Emirates since the establishment of the state in 1971.
The book “The Emirates and Egypt.. A Biography of Love”, which is inaugurated in its second edition on the land of Cairo Al-Moez, is the third experiment in which his documentary heritage books have been launched after the inauguration of his previous edition of the book “Sports in the Thought of Zayed” in August of 2018.
The book “The Emirates and Egypt… A Biography of Love” includes 200 pages and includes 9 different chapters. The book begins with an opening speech about the leader and founder of the United Arab Emirates, Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, “may God rest his soul,” and his historical speech about Egypt in which he said, “Egypt’s renaissance is a renaissance.” For all the Arabs, and I commanded my sons to always be on the side of Egypt, and this is my will to repeat to them before you, that they always be on the side of Egypt. This is the way to achieve glory for all the Arabs.
The book also includes a speech by the Emirati Arab Encyclopedia, His Excellency Dr. Ahmed Abdullah Belhoul Al Falasi, Minister of Education and Chairman of the General Sports Authority in the UAE, during which he stressed that the relations between the UAE and the Arab Republic of Egypt are deep and historical roots and strong brotherly relations that are a vital model for relations between countries and peoples alike. It has strengthened its ties for decades of cooperation and strategic partnership, the positive results of which were reflected on sustainable development in various sectors and fields between the two brotherly countries.
The book also includes a speech by His Excellency Dr. Ashraf Sobhi, Minister of Youth and Sports in the Arab Republic of Egypt, in which he said that the Egyptian-Emirati relations are a model to be followed in the relations between Arab peoples at various levels for decades, and they are not like other relations, as they are strong and solid based on foundations It is well-established, characterized by mutual appreciation and respect, and it is growing and becoming more and more stable with the passage of days.
The author concludes the book’s opening with a speech entitled “Always with the Egyptians,” in which he embodies the extent of his love for Egypt and his fondness for its people. It was presented and contributed by the Egyptians to the construction process in the United Arab Emirates in various sectors.
The book, in its first chapter, entitled “A Love Story”, talks about the solid relations between the Emirates and Egypt since the establishment of the UAE under the leadership of Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, the founder of the state, and its leader now, His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, “may God protect him”, who received the copy. The first of the first edition on the 31st of last May and the great agreement between them in facing all challenges since the era of the late Egyptian leader Gamal Abdel Nasser until the era of His Excellency President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi.
In its second chapter, entitled “Sports Stations”, the book deals with a documentation of the most prominent joint sporting events between the two brotherly countries, especially the sporting events organized by the UAE on the guarded land.
The book highlights in its third chapter entitled “Egyptian Creativity” the distinguished presence of Egyptians in the awards organized by the UAE annually, most notably the Mohammed bin Rashid Award for Sports Creativity.
The book documents in its fourth chapter entitled “The First Visit” the visit of the Al Wahda team in Dubai to Egypt in 1970, which was the first visit of an Emirati team to Egypt and lasted a whole month at the invitation of Engineer Othman Ahmed Othman, President of the Arab Contractors Company, as well as the subsequent visits to various UAE clubs and teams to Egypt.
In its fifth chapter, entitled “Nasser Cup”, the book talks about the hexagonal football championship that was held in memory of the late leader Gamal Abdel Nasser and organized by Al-Ahly Club in Dubai, which witnessed extensive participation from clubs and schools.
The book, in its sixth chapter, entitled “Shine in our stadiums”, talks about the coaches and players who starred in the UAE football stadiums since the establishment of the state until now in various clubs and organizations, most notably the late Shehta, who led the UAE national team in the first tournament in which he participated in the Gulf Cup in 1972.
The book highlights in its seventh chapter entitled “The Ten Omars” the different stations of the author of the book on the good land of Egypt, most notably the inauguration of the book “Sports in the Thought of Zayed in Cairo”.
In its eighth chapter, the book deals with the title “Always with you”, which is the fixed and permanent title of the book’s author’s article in the prestigious Al Bayan newspaper, his private memories and stories with Egyptian officials, athletes and media professionals.
In its ninth chapter entitled “Partners”, the book talks about the close cooperation between Egypt and the UAE in various economic, cultural and sports fields, most notably the national Emirati institutions that have branches in Egypt, including Dragon Oil, Emirates Petroleum and the Zayed Charitable Marathon.
Finally, the book dealt with a new chapter entitled “Egypt in my mind” that monitors the wide reactions Arab and international after the launch of the first edition, which received wide-ranging media and cultural attention, and received great praise from intellectuals, thinkers and media professionals in Egypt, the Emirates and the sister Arab countries.
