Minister of Youth and Sports, Gawhar Nabil, witnessed the signing ceremony for the contract to host the 2027 World Darts Championship in Egypt. The ceremony was also attended by Major General Khaled Fouda, Advisor to the President for Local Development and Chairman of the Supreme Organizing Committee for the Championship. This move reflects the growing international confidence in Egypt’s ability to host and organize major sporting events.
Members of the Egyptian Darts Federation’s Board of Directors were also present, including Major General Gamal Youssef, Gouda Abu El-Nour, and Engineer Zakaria Essam, along with Dr. Mohamed El-Kurdy, Head of the Sports Sector at the Ministry of Youth and Sports, and Dr. Ahmed Mokhtar, Head of the Central Administration for Sports Performance.
The Minister of Youth and Sports emphasized that hosting the 2027 World Darts Championship represents another success for Egypt in organizing and hosting international sporting events. He noted that the Ministry continues to support national sports federations and enhance opportunities to host major championships, thus contributing to solidifying Egypt’s position as a regional and international sports hub.
Hosting the tournament comes within the framework of the Ministry of Youth and Sports’ strategy aimed at expanding the scope of hosting international competitions, which enhances the sports and tourism movement, and reflects what the Egyptian state possesses in terms of infrastructure, modern sports facilities and distinguished organizational capabilities.
