On My Responsibility

We previously discussed the agreement to develop the football field at the Tubli Municipal Comprehensive Center. It represents a masterstroke for the Sports Authority as part of the project to integrate facilities across various government agencies, contributing to raising the efficiency of sports facilities in the Kingdom and benefiting sports federations, clubs, and schools.
We described this step as a partnership between government departments to achieve sustainable development in sports through the development and expansion of sports infrastructure. There are many of our clubs that need to expand their sports facilities and benefit from this development, including school fields that can be turfed with artificial grass!
When we have established clubs in need of training fields, such agreements can overcome their problems, as is the case with the Qalali Club, a well-established club on Muharraq Island. Its village has been transformed into a large area serving a large segment of the population. It needs a plot of land to replace its former stadium.
When I say it’s one of the most prestigious clubs, it’s a member of the Football Association since the 1960s. It has produced many players for our national teams, most notably Jassim Hamad, a member of the national team in the second Gulf Cup, as well as Al-Alan, Musa Al-Qattan, and other players in the youth teams. Perhaps the need for Qalali Club to have its own stadium is dictated by its residential area, which can produce many talented players. The exceptional efforts of its management, through its role and presence in protecting youth through beneficial educational and physical programs, advance their academic and technical skills, and the presence of administrators who constantly stay away from them for fear of their safety.
I believe that the facility, established by the Sports Authority a few years ago, needs to be commercially activated, with its attached shops, so that it can generate a sustainable income to support its various activities, especially football, which needs a replacement stadium for the dilapidated one expected to be relocated.
